Below are some tips on where to travel in the Liberec Region each day

6:00 p.m. – Arrival by plane in Prague, followed by a bus or car transfer to Liberec.

Your journey begins in the Czech Republic’s capital, from where you’ll head to the picturesque city of Liberec. The drive or bus ride takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Upon arrival, check in at a guesthouse near the museum and enjoy a brief rest.

DAY 1:

9:00 a.m. – Breakfast at the guesthouse by the museum

Enjoy breakfast at the guesthouse next to the museum and get ready for a day full of experiences.
Duration: 1 hour

10:00 a.m. – Liberec Zoo (via public transport)

The oldest zoo in the Czech Republic, home to many exotic species. The highlight here is the white tigers, a rare sight.
Duration: 3.5 hours

1:30 p.m. – Lunch at the zoo

Enjoy a tasty meal at one of the zoo’s restaurants, offering both Czech and international cuisine.
Duration: 1 hour

2:30 p.m.– Botanical Garden (about 7 minutes on foot from the zoo)

Just a short walk away, Liberec’s Botanical Garden offers a rich collection of exotic plants and tropical greenhouses.

4:00 p.m.– Walk through Dr. Edvard Benes Square and the Town Hall

The main square is the heart of Liberec, dominated by a stunning neo-Renaissance town hall resembling Vienna’s city hall. Reachable by tram from the zoo (about 5 minutes).

5:00 p.m. – Visit to a local brewery in Vratislavice

Before dinner, head to the nearby brewery in Vratislavice, where you can learn about the history of beer brewing in the region and sample several local specialties. It’s a great way to experience a piece of local culture and warm up before dinner.
Vratislavice is easily accessible from the center of Liberec by public transport, approximately a 15-minute journey.

6:30 p.m. – Dinner in the city center

Sample traditional Czech dishes, such as sirloin in cream sauce with dumplings.

2:00 p.m. – Hike from Jested via Virive kameny

Take a scenic hike along the Jested ridge to discover unique rock formations.

4:00 p.m. – Rest at the guesthouse

After a long day, enjoy some well-deserved rest. Return from the cable car stop (about 25 minutes).
Duration: 1 hour

5:00 p.m. – Entertainment center with a science exhibition and water world

After some rest, head to a large entertainment center where you can visit an interactive science center or unwind in the aqua park or amusement park. It’s a great place for fun and activity before your evening program.
You can reach the entertainment center from the guesthouse stop by tram or bus, approximately a 10 to 15-minute journey.

7:00 p.m. – Nightlife and dinner in the city center

Explore Liberec’s nightlife: visit local bars, wine bars, or enjoy an evening stroll through the city. You can savor dinner at one of the many restaurants in the city center, which offer a wide range of cuisines, from traditional Czech to international.

DAY 3:

10:00 a.m. – Departure to Frydlant after breakfast

Train departs at 10:34, about a 30-minute ride. Frydlant is a charming historic town with one of the Czech Republic’s most beautiful castles.
Duration: 1 hour

11:00 a.m. – Walk to Frydlant Castle

Visit this iconic castle, blending Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque elements. Explore exhibitions showcasing noble life across centuries.
Duration: 2 hours

1:00 p.m. – Return to the city

Return to the city on foot, taking a walk through the local residential area and getting a feel for the atmosphere of a smaller town.
The journey from the castle to the center of Frydlant takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

1:30 p.m. – Lunch in the center

Enjoy Czech cuisine near the center. If you’re curious to try local beer, visit the town’s brewery with its own craft beers and excellent food.

2:30 p.m. – City and Town Hall tour

Frydlant’s town hall is a fine example of historical architecture and worth a visit.
Duration: 1 hour

3:30 p.m. – Coffee break

Relax at a cafe near the town hall and soak up the town’s atmosphere.
Walk to the train station (about 20 minutes).

5:00 p.m. – Train to Jablonec nad Nisou

The train departs at 17:28, about a 1-hour journey.

6:30 p.m. – Hotel check-in (15 minutes from the train station)

7:30 p.m. – Experiential dinner – food pairing with regional beverages and a program

Enjoy a special experiential dinner in Jablonec nad Nisou, where dishes will be paired with regional beverages such as local beers, wines, or herbal liqueurs. The dinner will be accompanied by a cultural program, such as live music (folklore, jazz) or a short performance by local artists.

One of Europe’s most important museums of its kind. Learn about the rich tradition of glass and jewelry production, and see stunning historical and modern pieces.

After the museum, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant — perhaps a Czech specialty or something lighter.
Duration: 1 hour

2:30 p.m. – Walk to the Mšeno Reservoir

Known as Jablonec Reservoir, this is one of the prettiest spots in town — perfect for relaxing, strolling, or sitting by the water.
You can walk (about 20 minutes) or take public transport (about 9 minutes).
Duration: 1.5 hours

4:00 p.m. – Visit to a panoramic observation tower near Jablonec nad Nisou

Head to the local observation tower, where you’ll be treated to a beautiful panoramic view of Jablonec nad Nisou and the surrounding landscape. It’s a pleasant walk and a great opportunity for photos.
You can reach the observation tower from the dam by public transport, about a 15-minute ride followed by a short walk.

5:30 p.m. – Return to the center and prepare for the evening

After returning from the observation tower, take a short rest at the hotel or some time to refresh.
You can return to the center from the observation tower on foot (approx. 20 minutes) or by public transport (10 minutes).

6:30 p.m. – Dinner in the center

End your day with dinner at one of Jablonec’s popular restaurants, where you can enjoy great food and prepare for the evening program.

7:30 p.m. – Evening culture – concert or theater performance

Instead of nightlife, focus on evening culture. Check the program of the local theater or cultural center, where concerts, theatrical performances, lectures, or film screenings are often held. Choose an activity that allows you to experience a different side of local life and art.
The local theater and cultural center are easily accessible on foot from the restaurant or hotel.

DAY 5:

9:00 a.m. – Breakfast in central Jablonec

Enjoy breakfast at a local café or at your hotel before setting off on your next adventure.

10:00 a.m. – Bus to Turnov – the heart of Bohemian Paradise

Take bus departing at 10:36 (about a 40-minute ride).

11:20 a.m. – Arrival in Turnov and check-in

After arrival, check into a small hotel or guesthouse (about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop) and prepare for the day.
Duration: 40 minutes

12:00 a.m. – Lunch in Turnov center

Turnov is known for both its history and great food. We recommend a restaurant overlooking the historic center.
Duration: 1 hour

1:00 p.m. – Tour of Turnov

Turnov is the gateway to Bohemian Paradise and a town with rich history. Stroll through its charming square or admire its traditional jewelry-making craft.
Duration: 45 minutes

1:45 p.m. – Walk to the bus station (about 15 minutes)

Bus to Sychrov departs at 14:04 (15-minute ride).

2:30 p.m. – Visit to Sychrov Castle

A highlight of the day, Sychrov is a romantic French-style château with lavish interiors and a sprawling park — one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. Explore its ornate halls, art collections, and learn about the Rohan family’s history.
Duration: 2 hours

4:30 p.m. – Walk around the Sychrov park

After the castle tour, enjoy a stroll through the peaceful English-style park.
Duration: 1 hour

6:30 p.m. – Dinner in Turnov

Wrap up the day with dinner at one of Turnov’s restaurants, offering both traditional Czech dishes and modern cuisine.
You’ll return from Sychrov to Turnov by bus (15-minute ride).

8:00 p.m. – Departure to finishing this trip by bus or car.
