The Gothic castle high above the river was built in the mid-thirteenth century and between 1565-1578 it was rebuilt into a Renaissance-style stately home which is now a dominating landmark of Namest nad Oslavou. The interior of the castle offers a unique display of tapestries, precious paintings or historical furniture, the castle chapel is remarkable for its architecture and baroque equipment, the library for its rich book stock and a barrel ceiling with the unique fresco decoration and the inner courtyard attracts with decorated renaissance arcades.
