This delicious recipe is from the Pilsen Region. If you are a fan of good food and drinks, you have an opportunity to enjoy an outstanding gourmet experience by visiting the city of Pilsen. During May, the city of Pilsen hosts several amazing gastronomic festivals. In the Czech Republic, there is a saying that May is the time of love. On the other hand, Czech people also know that every love goes through stomach first.

1/2 loaf rye bread (about a few days-old)
3 Tbs Panco bread crumbs
2 cups milk
2 eggs, separate egg yolks, reserve whites to be whipped
1 slice unsalted butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 Tbs grated lemon peel
1 tsp ground clove
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3 Tbs cocoa powder
4 Tbs currant jam
4 Tbs chocolate frosting
Chop 3 Tbs of days-old rye bread and set it aside. Dip the remaining bread in hot milk, let it soak, and then mash it. Mix egg yolks, butter, sugar, grated lemon peel, clove, cinnamon, and cocoa powder. Mix the resulting mixture with the bread mash, add baking powder, the 3 Tbs of bread crumbs , and whipped egg whites.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for about 40 minutes in a round cake form. When ready, cut it into two halves. Spread each half with a currant jam and pour a chocolate frosting over it.
