Below are some tips on where to travel in Zlin Region each day

Arrival day
The journey begins with an arrival at Vienna Airport, from where you will take an approximately two-hour bus ride to Brno, followed by another 70-minute transfer to Zlin. After getting off at the Zlín bus station, there is a short 11-minute transfer to the Zlin Department Store, followed by check-in at your hotel.

Day 1 – Zlin

8:15 a.m. – Hotel breakfast in the bistro

The day begins with breakfast in a renowned bistro in the shopping center, which is located directly below the hotel. Here you can enjoy a varied selection of fresh meals and specialty coffee in a modern environment, all just a few steps from your accommodation.

9:15 a.m. – Transfer to the first tourist attraction – Bata’s Skyscraper

After breakfast at 9:00, you will head towards the first attraction. Bata’s Skyscraper is a 10-minute walk from the accommodation.

9:30 a.m. – Visit to the first tourist attraction – Bata’s Skyscraper (Building 21)

Bata’s Skyscraper, also known as Building 21, is an icon of Zlin architecture and a symbol of the development of the Bata company. It is definitely worth a visit for the view of the entire city from the upper floors.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes

11:30 a.m. – Lunch at a restaurant in the city center of Zlin

After the morning tour, we will walk to one of the restaurants in the city center, approximately 10 minutes away from the first tourist visit. Guests can choose from traditional Czech cuisine or modern gastronomy.

12:30 p.m. – Afternoon walk through the center of Zlin with the goal of reaching the Tomas Bata Memorial

During the 20-minute walk, it is possible to see typical brick buildings, wide streets, and the urban design of the city, which was very modern for its time.

12:50 p.m. – Visit to the Tomas Bata Memorial

The Tomas Bata Memorial is the most significant jewel of Zlin functionalism, which will dazzle you with its minimalist glass interior featuring a faithful replica of the historic Junkers F.13 aircraft.

2:00 p.m. – Short coffee break in a local cafe near the Tomas Bata Memorial

Visitors can enjoy high-quality coffee, tea, or small desserts in a pleasant environment while enjoying the atmosphere of the modern center of Zlin.

2:40 p.m. – Transfer by bus transport

After the break in the cafe, there is a transfer to the university, where a bus will take us out of the city to the second tourist attraction of the day.

3:30 p.m. – Visit to the second tourist attraction – Lesna Chateau

Lesna Chateau is one of the most beautiful historical buildings in the region. During the tour, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, visitors have the opportunity to see richly decorated interiors, romantic architecture, and a beautiful park ideal for an afternoon walk.

5:40 p.m. – Return by bus transport

After the tour and walk through the chateau park, there is a transfer to the bus stop and then the journey back to the city.

6:15 p.m. – Dinner near Komensky Park

After returning to the university, you will have dinner in one of the restaurants around Komensky Park.
Duration: 60 minutes

7:15 p.m. – Return to the hotel

After dinner, there is a 10-minute transfer back to the hotel.

Day 2 – Luhacovice

A 10-minute walk transfer to the bus station from where a bus will take you to Luhacovice.

8:35 a.m. – Walk along the colonnade

After getting off the bus, a beautiful walk along the colonnade awaits you, where you will see monuments such as

10:00 a.m. – Walk along the colonnade

After breakfast, there is a short walk past monuments such as Jurkovic House or the Luhacovice Museum towards the heart of the city.

10:40 a.m. – Tasting of the Vincentka mineral spring and purchase of traditional wafers

Vincentka is the most famous spring in Luhacovice, known worldwide for its unique healing effects. The water is used not only for drinking but also for inhalation, and represents the true natural wealth of the region. This is also followed by a tasting of local spa wafers and a walk around the colonnade.
Duration: 40 minutes

11:20 a.m. – Lunch at the Augustinian House

This house is known for its peaceful, almost spiritual atmosphere and history associated with the stays of the famous composer Leos Janacek. The surrounding gastronomy focuses on a modern and lightened concept of regional recipes using seasonal ingredients and fresh herbs.
Duration: 90 minutes

12:50 p.m. – Museum of Luhacovice Zalesi

The museum is located in the premises of the Municipal House of Culture. This visit is key to understanding the region – you will see exhibitions on folk culture, the unique Luhacovice folklore, and the history of the spa. It is the most important public cultural institution in the area.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

2:05 p.m. – Tour of the Vincentka Hall and exhibition on the springs

Vincentka is a national symbol of Luhacovice. The hall in which the spring is located is a protected monument. Here you will learn about the geological origin of the local waters and view interactive panels on the history of their use. It is a publicly accessible building in the heart of the spa zone.
Duration: 40 minutes

2:45 p.m. – Coffee and traditional spa dessert

Rest in one of the cafes on the main promenade. This break is an inherent part of spa life and will allow you to observe the bustle on the colonnade from the comfort of a historical environment.

3:30 p.m. – Sun Baths – Dusan Jurkovic Exhibition

The recently sensitively reconstructed complex of the former River and Sun Baths. Today it serves as a museum and memorial dedicated to the architect Dusan Jurkovic. You will see unique wooden architecture, unparalleled in the world, in its purest, original form.
Duration: 50 minutes

4:20 p.m. – Circuit around public springs and the colonnade

A walk to other freely accessible springs such as Ottovka or Dr. Stastny’s Spring. The route leads through the public spa park, which is itself a protected heritage urban complex. You will once again see the exteriors of Jurkovič House and other buildings that shape the face of Luhacovice.
Duration: 40 minutes

5:00 p.m. – Early evening stop at the Music Pavilion

You will end the day at the historic wooden pavilion in the park. If a promenade concert is taking place at that time, you can listen to the tones of classical music, which completes the atmosphere of the “golden age” of the spa. Even without a concert, the pavilion is a significant architectural point of the park.
Duration: 15-20 minutes (or according to the length of the concert)

5:20 p.m. – Dinner in the historical center

Ending the day in the elegant surroundings of one of the restaurants in the spa center. Dinner with a view of Jurkovic’s buildings and murmuring fountains represents a romantic end to the day in the spirit of “old Europe”.

6:35 p.m. – Transfer to the bus station

A relaxing walk through the city center towards the bus station.
Duration: 15 minutes

6:50 p.m. – Departure by bus back to Zlin

Departure by direct connection from Luhacovice to the bus station in Zlin and subsequent transfer to the accommodation.

Day 3 – Kromeriz

8:00 a.m. – Hotel breakfast in the bistro

9:00 a.m. – Transfer to the bus station

After breakfast, there is a short 15-minute transfer to the bus station from where a bus goes to Kromeriz.

10:30 a.m. – Arrival at Kromeriz bus station

After getting off the bus, you will head towards the historical center. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes walking across the bridge over the Morava River to the Great Square, which is a UNESCO jewel with exceptionally preserved Baroque architecture and picturesque streets that resemble movie sets.
Duration: 20 minutes (transfer)

10:50 a.m. – Visit to the Museum of the Kromeriz Region

Tour of the museum, which is located directly on the square. The exhibitions offer a look into the history of the region, including a unique exhibition about the Kromeriz mint or archaeology. It is an ideal cultural start before the main tour of the chateau.
Duration: 1 hour

11:50 a.m. – Lunch break in the city center

Lunch in one of the restaurants on the Great Square so that you are just a few steps from the chateau. Traditional Czech cuisine in a historical setting will give you energy for the rest of the day.

1:00 p.m. – Tour of the Archbishop’s Chateau (Representative Halls)

The main point of the program. The tour route includes the most beautiful spaces of the chateau, such as the Assembly Hall, the Throne Room, or the Mansard Hall. The chateau is inscribed on the UNESCO list and its interiors are among the most valuable in Europe.
Duration: 1 hour

2:00 p.m. – Coffee and dessert at the Chateau Cafe

After the tour of the chateau, you will head to the cafe directly in the chateau courtyard. You will enjoy coffee and a local dessert in the authentic atmosphere of the archbishop’s residence. It is an ideal time for relaxation before touring the gardens.
Duration: 40 minutes

2:40 p.m. – Walk through the Chateau Garden

This extensive natural landscape park directly adjoins the chateau. You will walk around ponds, see romantic buildings, and over 200 rare trees from around the world. The garden offers peace and beautiful views of the chateau tower.

3:45 p.m. – Tour of the Flower Garden

Walking transfer through the city to the Flower Garden (approx. 10-15 mins). The Flower Garden in Kromeriz is absolutely unique in that it represents a transition between two fundamental styles. It is built in the spirit of the late Renaissance and early Baroque, making it a worldwide UNESCO unique site. You can admire the 244-meter-long Colonnade with statues, the Rotunda, and precisely cut geometric shapes of flowerbeds and mazes.

5:15 p.m. – Return to the Great Square

Departure from the Flower Garden towards the square. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes at a brisk walking pace.

5:30 p.m. – Tour of the markets on the Great Square

The Great Square in Kromeriz is very lively, where, thanks to regular markets, concerts, and seasonal events, centuries-old traditions come alive in unique UNESCO settings. It is an ideal place for a well-deserved rest in one of the cafes or restaurants under the Baroque arcades, from where you can peacefully soak up the historical atmosphere, admire honest Czech crafts, or taste renowned local specialties.
Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes

6:45 p.m. – Transfer to Kromeriz bus station

The transfer back to the bus station takes approx. 15 minutes walking.

Day 4 – Uherske Hradiste and Uhersky Brod

Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes

9:00 a.m. – Arrival at Uherske Hradiste bus station

From the station, you will take a short walk through the Smetanovy sady park towards the museum.
Duration: 10 minutes

9:15 a.m. – Tour of the Slovacko Museum

The museum is located in a beautiful building in the city park. The “Slovacko” exhibition will introduce you to the folk culture, costumes, and traditions of the region. It is an essential foundation for understanding the identity of the entire region.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

10:30 a.m. – Historical core and gallery

Transfer to Masaryk Square and subsequently to the building of the Jesuit College. This houses a gallery dedicated to the most significant painter of Slovacko. You will see monumental canvases depicting folklore and the life of the local people in an authentic form.
Duration: 1 hour

11:30 a.m. – Lunch in the historical center

In the vicinity of Marianske and Masaryk Squares, there are a number of restaurants or burger houses. We recommend trying the local cuisine or seasonal menu to gather strength for the afternoon part of the program.

12:30 p.m. – Transfer to the bus station and departure for Uhersky Brod

This is followed by a 10-minute transfer to the bus station from where a direct bus departs. The journey leads through the landscape of the White Carpathians foothills.
Duration: 40 minutes

1:10 p.m. – Arrival and tour of the Town Fortifications

After arrival, you will tour one of the best-preserved town fortifications in Moravia. You will walk around the entire perimeter of the preserved walls, which for centuries protected this strategically important place that served as a base for the troops of John of Luxembourg.
Duration: 30 minutes

1:45 p.m. – Transfer to the John Amos Comenius Museum

This is followed by a 15-minute walk towards the museum. Along the way, you will see Masaryk Square and the city center.
Duration: 15 minutes

2:00 p.m. – John Amos Comenius Museum

The main destination in Uhersky Brod is the John Amos Comenius Museum. The museum is located in the premises of the preserved chateau and parts of the town fortifications. The exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the “Teacher of Nations” and the history of the region. The interactive elements and rare prints are a worldwide unique feature.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

3:30 p.m. – Stop at the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

Stop by this magnificent Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, which is a landmark of the city with an impressive interior. It houses the relics of St. Fortunatus, a bishop who composed a hymn in praise of the Virgin Mary and wrote the biography of St. Martin.
Duration: 30 minutes

4:00 p.m. – Afternoon coffee and a stop at the town hall

In the upper part of the square, you can treat yourself to coffee and dessert in one of the local cafes.

5:20 p.m. – Departure from Uhersky Brod bus station

End of the one-day trip in Uherske Hradiste and Uhersky Brod, with a return to Zlin.

6:35 p.m. – Return to Zlin and dinner at the bistro in the shopping center

After returning to the hotel, you will have dinner in the bistro next to the hotel, where it is possible to end the day with classic Czech cuisine. This is followed by free time for the rest of the evening.

Day 5 – Valasske Mezirici and Roznov pod Radhostem

7:15 a.m. – Hotel breakfast in the bistro

8:00 a.m. – Transfer to the bus station

After breakfast, there is a short transfer to the station, from where departure to Valasske Mezirici will be arranged.

10:00 a.m. – Arrival at Valasske Mezirici train station

After arrival, you will head towards the city center, which will tune you into the morning program with its peaceful atmosphere and historical environment.

10:30 a.m. – Visit to the Kinsky Chateau (Museum of the Wallachian Region)

A tour of the museum focusing on the history, nature, and traditional culture of Wallachia. The exhibitions provide a comprehensive overview of the region and serve as an ideal introduction to the whole day.
Duration: 1 hour

11:30 a.m. – Visit to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

A short visit to a significant Baroque sacred building located in the city center. The interior offers a display of historical art and architecture.
Duration: 20 minutes

11:50 a.m. – Transfer to the bus stop and to Roznov pod Radhostem

This is followed by a 15-minute walk to the bus stop and a direct transfer between the cities without the need for complicated connections.

12:45 p.m. – Lunch in Roznov pod Radhostem

Lunch in one of the restaurants in the city center or near the open-air museum. Traditional cuisine will provide energy for the main part of the program.

12:45 p.m. – Lunch near the open-air museum

Lunch in one of the traditional restaurants. We recommend tasting local specialties such as kyselica or halušky, which will fill you up before the demanding walk on the hills of the open-air museum.

1:45 p.m. – Transfer to the ticket offices and entrance to the complex

A short transfer to the main entrance of the Wallachian Open-Air Museum and purchase of a circuit ticket.
Duration: 10 minutes

1:55 p.m. – Wallachian Village (main part of the open-air museum)

The largest and hilliest part of the open-air museum. You will see authentic farmsteads, a school, and a windmill. The buildings are set in a landscape that faithfully simulates life in the Wallachian clearings.
Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes

3:05 p.m. – Transfer to the Water Mill Valley

Walking transfer within the museum towards the technical section.
Duration: 10 minutes

3:15 p.m. – Water Mill Valley

Exhibition of water-powered technical buildings. You will see a sawmill, a fulling mill, and a gristmill in operation. This part is a fascinating display of the craftsmanship and technical progress of our ancestors.

4:00 p.m. – Transfer to the Wooden Town

Transition to the oldest part of the open-air museum, which is located at the lower entrance.
Duration: 10 minutes

4:10 p.m. – Wooden Town

Tour of the historical square with the Church of St. Anne. This part represents the architecture of a typical Moravian town of the 19th century.
Duration: 30 minutes

4:40 p.m. – Ascent to the Jurkovic Observation Tower

Departure from the open-air museum and an ascent along a forest path to Karluv Kopec (Charles’s Hill). The observation tower, designed by the famous Dusan Jurkovic, is unique for its colors and folk motifs.
Duration: 30 minutes

5:10 p.m. – Jurkovic Observation Tower

Tour of the tower’s interior and the view from the upper gallery of the Beskydy panorama and the town of Roznov. It is one of the most beautiful architectural points of the region.
Duration: 30 minutes

5:40 p.m. – Transfer to the city center (through the park)

Descent from the observation tower and a walk through the city park towards the center.
Duration: 35 minutes

6:15 p.m. – Dinner in Roznov and souvenir shopping

Final dinner before departure in one of the restaurants and shopping for original Wallachian gifts and souvenirs.

7:15 p.m. – Transfer to the station

Walking transfer from the center to the bus station.
Duration: 10 minutes

7:33 p.m. – Departure to Zlin

Departure by bus to Zlin and return to the accommodation.

Day of departure

The final day begins with check-out from the hotel at the Zlin Department Store, from where a short 11-minute transfer to the bus station awaits you. This will be followed by a 70-minute journey to Brno and an approximately two-hour bus ride directly to Vienna Airport for your departure home.

Locations
