Below are some tips on where to travel in Karlovy Vary each day

 

Day 1


10:00 a.m. – Arrival in the Czech Republic at Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague

11:00 a.m. – Arrival by train, bus, or car in Karlovy Var

  • Arrival by a private transport company that offers connections from Prague to Karlovy Vary.

12:00 p.m. – Luggage drop-off at selected hotel in Karlovy Vary

12:30 p.m. – Lunch in the City Center

  • Enjoy a lunch break at one of the many excellent traditional restaurants in the city center.
  • Duration: 2 hours

2:30 p.m. – Check-in at accommodation in Karlovy Vary (near the city center)

  • Hotel check-in in Karlovy Vary.

3:30 p.m. – Walking tour along the colonnade and visiting spa springs:

  • Mill Colonnad
  • Market Colonnad
  • Hot Spring Colonnade (the hottest spring)
  • Castle Colonnade
  • Riverside near the colonnade
  • Duration: 2 hours

5:30 p.m. – Visit to local thermal resort

  • Visit the most famous thermal hotel in Karlovy Vary, located next to Smetana Gardens, for relaxation and bathing.
  • Duration: 3 hours

8:30 p.m. – Dinner at local restaurant

  • Enjoy dinner in the city center or at your selected accommodation.
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

10:00 p.m. – Return to the hotel on foot (or explore the nightlife of Karlovy Vary)

 

Day 2


9:00 a.m. – Breakfast at hotel

  • Duration: 1 hour

10:00 a.m. – Travel by bus, train, or car to the city of Jachymov

  • Arrival in Jachymov by public transport company offering direct routes from Karlovy Vary center to the spa part of Jachymov.

10:30 a.m. – Visit to the Royal Mint in Jachymov

  • Visit the Royal Mint in Jachymov, a historical site founded in 1520. The mint is known for its role in minting silver coins. Today it hosts an exhibition focused on the history of minting, mining, and life in Jachymov.
  • Duration: 2 hours

12:30 p.m. – Lunch in the city center

  • Enjoy a lunch break at a restaurant near the mint offering a unique selection of mostly grilled dishes made from fresh ingredients.
  • Duration: 2 hours

2:30 p.m. – Visit to the local aquapark in Jachymov

  • Visit to the local aquapark for relaxation, rest, and bathing.
  • Duration: 3 hours

2:30 p.m. – Walking tour of Jachymov center

  • Joachim Church
  • Landmarks around Republic Square

  • Spa Park

  • Visit one of the many restaurants that Jachymov offers.

9:00 p.m. – Return to the hotel (or explore the nightlife of Karlovy Vary)

  • Return to Karlovy Vary by public transport company providing connection from Jachymov.

 

Day 3


9:00 a.m. – Breakfast at hotel

  • Duration: 1 hour

10:00 a.m. – Visit to Frantiskovy Lazne

  • Visit to Frantiskovy Lazne, one of the most famous spa locations in the Czech Republic. Known for its 23 mineral springs and historical architecture. The city offers a peaceful atmosphere, beautiful parks, and confectioneries with spa wafers typical for the region.

12:30 p.m. – Lunch break in local restaurant

  • Enjoy a visit to a traditional local restaurant in Frantiskovy Lazne.
  • Duration: 2 hours

2:30 p.m. – Continuation of the city tour

  • FATAMORGANA (Museum of Illusions),
  • Temples, statues, spa houses,
  • Salt and Meadow Spring Colonnade,
  • New Colonnade with Gas Spa, Natalie Spring Colonnade,
  • Parks
  • The ceremonial opening of the new spa season takes place in early May – one of the highlights of social events in Frantiskovy Lazne.
  • Duration: 5 hours

6:30 p.m. – Dinner at local restaurant

  • Visit a restaurant for traditional Czech dinner in Frantiskovy Lazne.

8:00 p.m. – Return to the hotel (or explore the nightlife of Karlovy Vary)

 

Day 4


9:00 a.m. – Breakfast at hotel

  • Duration: 1 hour

10:00 a.m. – Visit to Luzansky Park and sports area in Karlovy Vary

  • Visit to Luzansky Park, one of the most visited parks in Karlovy Vary. It offers rest, relaxation, and space for leisure sports activities such as jogging, cycling, pétanque, and more.
  • Duration: 2 hours

12:00 p.m. – Lunch at local restaurant

  • Visit an elegant historical-style restaurant near Luzansky Park.
  • Duration: 2 hours

1:30 p.m. – Visit to a local wellness center for relaxation

  • Visit local wellness hotels for relaxation and bathing.

4:00 p.m. – Visit and tasting at Jan Becher Museum

  • The visitor center “The Home of Becherovka” is located in a historical building from 1867, which served as a Becherovka factory for over 140 years.
  • Explore the history of the iconic Czech herbal liqueur through unique items, historical bottles, interactive exhibits, and virtual reality. Each tour ends with a tasting of our products.
  • There is also an official shop in the building for herbal lovers.
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

7:30 p.m. – Dinner at local restaurant

  • Visit a local restaurant located in the former Becherovka factory complex.

8:00 p.m. – Return to the hotel on foot (or explore the nightlife of Karlovy Vary)

 

Day 5


9:00 a.m. – Breakfast at hotel

  • Duration: 1 hour

11:00 a.m. – Check-out in Karlovy Vary

11:30 a.m. – Final walk in Karlovy Vary to the Freedom Spring and Park Colonnade

  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

1:00 p.m. – Lunch at local restaurant

  • Visit a restaurant offering modern European cuisine with emphasis on fresh ingredients.

2:30 p.m. – Final souvenir shopping

4:00 p.m. – Departure to finish the trip by bus, train, or car
