6:00 p.m. – Arrival by train in Pardubice

Check-In at Accommodation
Head to your chosen accommodation on the main avenue near the railway station. There are many many hotels to choose from with a variety of preferences and price budget. Check-in, freshen up and rest after a long trip for the rest of the day.

Day 1: Pardubice – The Heart of the Region and Industrial Beauty

8:30 a.m. | Breakfast:

Start your day at a café on the main avenue leading to the center, where you can enjoy specialty coffee and a high-quality breakfast menu in a modern setting.

9:30 a.m. | Transfer to the Castle:

Walk toward the Pardubice Castle. Most guided tours begin at 10:00, giving you plenty of time to walk around the castle grounds and purchase tickets.

10:00 a.m. | Pardubice Castle:

This Renaissance castle, surrounded by massive defensive walls (ramparts, earthworks), is one of the city’s most significant landmarks. Choose the “Pernstejn Residence” tour (approx. 50 mins), which will guide you through the representative Knight’s Halls featuring the oldest Renaissance wall paintings in Bohemia.

11:15 a.m. | Walk around Castle & Historic Center:

After the tour spend some time discovering castles surrounding – massive defensive walls. Continue with a walk through the historic city centre to Pernstyn Square.

In the historic center, choose from traditional restaurants offering classic Czech cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

1:45 p.m. | Gocar Gallery:

Visit the modern art gallery located in the iconic Automatic Mills complex designed by architect Josef Gocar. An individual tour (approx. 90 mins) combines contemporary art with unique industrial architecture.

Take a bus from the city center to Kunetice.

4:00 p.m. | Kuneticka Hora Castle:

A dominant landmark of the Pardubice region perched on a prominent volcanic hill. The “Castle Palace with Tower View” tour (approx. 50 mins) guides you through historic interiors and ends with a panoramic view of the Elbe river basin.

6:00 p.m. | Dinner:

After returning to the center, end the day at a restaurant near the river offering excellent gastronomy.

Day 2: Kladruby & Slatinany – Horses of the UNESCO Heritage

For a quick start, use the fast-casual café near the main train station. They open early and offer good-quality coffee and fresh pastries perfect for the journey.

8:00 a.m. | Train Transfer:

Travel from Pardubice to Recany nad Labem, followed by a pleasant walk toward Kladruby.

9:30 a.m. | National Stud at Kladruby nad Labem:

A unique UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest stud farms in the world. We recommend a combination of the “Stables” and “Carriage House, Harness Room and Museum” tours, which follow one another. Over approximately 90 minutes, you’ll learn about the history and present-day breeding of the Imperial Old Kladruber Whites.

11:30 a.m. | Landscape Educational Trail:

Take a walk along the approximately 5 km trail through the characteristic landscape of alleys and pastures, shaped over centuries specifically for horse breeding.

1:00 p.m. | Lunch:

Stop at the restaurant directly opposite the stud farm to relax and enjoy the quiet rural atmosphere.

2:00 p.m. | Train Transfer:

Return via Pardubice and continue to your next destination Slatinany.

3:30 p.m. | Slatinany Chateau:

A charming manor house of the Auersperg family. The recommended “Summer Residence of the Auerspergs” tour (approx. 60 mins) showcases richly furnished interiors emphasizing aristocratic life and their relationship with horses.

4:30 p.m. | Slatinany Stud Farm:

It is directly connected to the castle grounds and specializes in breeding the black variety of Old Kladruber horses. You can often see them in the outdoor paddocks.

5:30 p.m. | Return by train back to Pardubice.

6:30 p.m. | Dinner:

After returning to Pardubice, conclude the day at a traditional restaurant for hearty Czech cuisine in a cozy environment.

Day 3: Choltice & Vysocina – Baroque and Timbered Houses

Take a combination of train and bus to Choltice.

An early Baroque castle associated with the Thun-Hohenstein family. Tour I (Castle and Chapel of St. Romedius) introduces the history of the residence and takes you to a unique Baroque pharmacy as well as the exceptional castle chapel.

Eat at the castle restaurant.

Continue by trains or buses toward Hlinsko/Dřevíkov. Then walk toward Vesely Kopec.

2:30 p.m. | Vesely Kopec Open-Air Museum:

An extensive part of the Vysocina Open-Air Museum. Walk freely among authentic timbered buildings and discover the traditional life of small farmers in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

4:30 p.m. | Return: Transfer back to Pardubice.

Day 4: Litomysl – A Full Day in a Renaissance Fairy Tale

8:30 a.m. | Breakfast:

Grab your breakfast at one of the local bakeries along with coffee and take it with you to the train.

9:00 a.m. | Transfer:

Take a train from Pardubice to Litomysl, then head to the Castle on foot.

11:00 a.m. | Litomysl Castle:

Visit one of the most beautiful Renaissance monuments in the Czech Republic written on the UNESCO list, famous for its sgraffito decoration. The “Basic Tour (State Rooms and Theatre)” (approx. 60 mins) features grand interiors and a unique Baroque theater.

Head to a traditional establishment with its own brewery near the castle.

1:30 p.m. | Piarist Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross:

A monumental Baroque building. You can climb to the viewing bridge between the towers and see an exceptional view of the entire town from one of them.

Explore the history of the city and see some unique remarks of the city parts such as castle walls, burgher house from the 14th century and much more.

3:30 p.m. | Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross:

Stop at an important Gothic monument near the square with beautiful gardens, where you can sit and relax.

4:45 p.m. | Transfer:

After exploring the city, take a train back to Pardubice.
