Below are some tips on where to travel in Karlovy Vary Region each day

DAY 1 – Arrival Day and a Short City Tour

13:00 – Arrival at Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague + transfer by bus to Karlovy Vary
Duration: 2 hours

15:00 – Arrival in Karlovy Vary

15:30 – Hotel check-in in the city center near the colonnades

Relax at the hotel and enjoy the minibar in your room

16:30 –Mlynska and Vridelni colonnade + Vridelni Underground, Church of St. Petr and Pavel

Walking tour. Tasting of mineral springs and visiting the underground of the Hot Spring. No transport needed, everything is within walking distance

Vridelni colonnade– one of the most famous buildings in Karlovy Vary, home to the largest and hottest spring-the Vridlo

Mlynska colonnade– the most beautiful colonnade in the city and a symbol of Karlovy Vary’s spa architecture

Church of St. Petr and Pavel – an Orthodox church in Russian style, built at the end of the 19th century for Russian spa guests, notable for its colorful domes and rich icon decoration

DAY 2 – Jachymov and Andelska mountain

10:00 – Visit to the Karlovy Vary Museum – Royal Mint in Jachymov

Royal Mint in Jachymov – silver coins called “tolar” were minted here, which later inspired the name “dollar”

11:00 –Freudenstein Castle (Slik Tower)

Freudenstein Castle – founded in the early 16th century, it served as an administrative center for silver mining and protected important mines

Slik Tower – a landmark of Jachymov reminding of its rich mining history

12:00 – Lunch in the center of Jachymov
Duration: 1 hour

13:00 – Transfer by public transport back to Karlovy Vary and then to Andelska mountain
Duration: 1 hour

14:00 – Andelska mountain – Engelsburg ruins

Andelska mountain Castle – founded in the 14th century, it changed several owners over time. During the Thirty Years War, it was heavily damaged, fell into decay, and turned into the Engelsburg ruins

Hike up to the ruins with panoramic views of the Slavkov Forest

DAY 3 – Loket and Svatos Rocks

10:00 – Loket Castle

Loket Castle – located above the Ohre River and surrounded by it on almost all sides, resembling the shape of an elbow (which is the origin of its name). It is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the Czech Republic

12:00 – Stone Bridge + views of the Ohre River meander

Stone Bridge – the most prominent historical landmark in the town. It connects the old town with the surroundings and leads directly to Loket Castle. It offers beautiful views of the historic center and the castle

13:00 – Lunch in the castle courtyard
Duration: 1 hour

14:00 – Transfer by bus + short walk to the rocks
Duration: 25 minutes by bus + 10–15 minutes on foot

15:15 – Svatos Rocks

Svatos Rocks – one of the most beautiful natural landmarks in western Bohemia, formed by granite rock towers and formations

A scenic walk (approx. 6 km) along a cycling path by the Ohre River towards Karlovy Vary. For less active visitors, scooters can be rented

Duration: 2 hours

17:15 – Visit to a nearby restaurant by the rocks for a cold drink and rest
Duration: 1 hour

18:15 – Return by bus to Karlovy Vary

19:45 – Rest at the hotel

DAY 4 – Becov nad Teplou and Marianske Lazne

11:00 – visit to the Maxim Gorky Colonnade, Singing Fountain and Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

Maxim Gorky Colonnade: the main spa colonnade in Marianske Lazne, one of the town’s most iconic landmarks and among the most beautiful in the Czech Republic

Singing Fountain: the town’s main attraction, combining impressive water displays with well-known music and light effects

Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary: an important religious landmark with a richly decorated interior, still used for services and cultural events

12:00 – lunch in the town square in Marianske Lazne
Duration: 1 hour

13:00 – walk through the spa park and visit to Rudolf Spring

Rudolf Spring: a well-known mineral spring in Marianske Lazne, rich in minerals, especially iron and carbon dioxide, and widely used for spa treatments

Duration: 1 hour

14:00 – free time to relax in a local café and enjoy traditional spa wafers
Duration: 30 minutes

14:30 – transfer by bus from Marianske Lazne to Becov nad Teplou
Duration: 45 minutes

15:15 – visit to Becov nad Teplou Castle and Chateau

A unique historical complex where a medieval castle seamlessly connects with a Baroque chateau, showcasing two distinct architectural styles

17:00 – scenic train journey to Karlovy Vary

DAY 5 – Kynzvart and Cheb

Located in the town center, the castle is one of Cheb’s main landmarks and one of the best-preserved imperial castles in the Czech Republic

15:15 – visit to the Church of St. Nicholas and St. Elisabeth and the Church of St. Clare, Spalicek square

Church of St. Nicholas and St. Elisabeth: one of the most important Gothic churches in western Bohemia
Church of St. Clare: now used primarily as a concert hall and exhibition space for the Gallery of Fine Arts in Cheb
Spalicek square: it is a unique labyrinth of medieval merchants’ houses in the center of Cheb, which originated as a small marketplace and trading hub at the crossroads of historic routes
