On Tuesday July 16, 2013 there was a soccer match of a Czech team FC Viktoria Plzeň and a team FK Željezničar Sarajevo from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Soccer is one of the most popular collective sport in Czech republic. Soccer has a big popularity also in city Pilsen, which soccer team FC Viktoria Plzeň won Czech league twice in last three years. Now these team started his action at EUFA Champions League second qualifying round.
First match of EUFA Champions League second qualifying round was played in Pilsen at Doosan Arena stadium. This stadion is located in Štrunc Park near confluence of rivers Mže and Radbuza. The stadium was first time opened in 1955 and it was several times reconstructed. The last reconstruction was in 2012 and for year 2013 is planed an another reconstruction of the main tribune. The team FC Viktoria Plzeň has a long history, the team was established in 1911 with the name SK Viktoria Plzeň.
Counts of visitors on the latest match show the big popularity of soccer in Czech republic. The stadium was sold out, there were 10 381 fans of team FC Victoria Plzeň and his opponent FK Željezničar Sarajevo, which were witnesses to the FC Victoria victory 4:3. The first half of the game brought no goal, mostly due to great saves of Železničars goalkeeper, who was able to thwart all chances of Viktoria. But second half was very interesting. Železničar surprised with its productivity. All of three shots on goal passed behind back of the Pilsens goalkeeper. To great atmosphere of the game also contributed visitors with their cheering.
