North Bohemian Beer Meat

This recipe come from North Bohemia.  There are located two regions – Usti and Liberec.   Beer Meat is delicious meal. The whole family will enjoy it.


2 lb. boneless pork shoulder
2 bottles of any lager beer
2 Tbs bread crumbs
2 tsp crushed or ground caraway seeds (grind in an electric coffee grinder)
salt to taste


Cube the meat and add it to a pot, along with salt, caraway seeds, bread crumbs, and beer. Stir well, cover the pot, and simmer at a medium heat until the meat is tender. Serve with mashed potatoes and fried onions.
