Pardubice Dumplings

This is a local Czech recipe from the Pardubice Region.

Ingredients

6 slices toast bread
3 eggs
8 cups of all-purpose flour
butter
milk
salt to taste

Instructions

Cut the bread into small cubes and fry them in butter until golden brown.  Mix by hand the flour, fried bread cubes, eggs and a pinch of salt and shape the dough into round dumplings. Cook them in steam for about 25 to 30 minutes. Pour warm milk over finished dumplings and serve.
