Vlassky Mixed Salad

Vlassky mixed salad is a typical snack food for Czech people. They either eat it as a snack at home or at work as a quick lunch. It can be also served at parties when people put the mixed salad in bowl and you can use a piece of bread to eat it with, or they put salad directly on a piece of bread or toast with a pickle or hard-boiled egg. According to legend this recipe originated in Prague and included apples.

Ingredients

1 lb sliced boiled ham
1 can peas
4 whole pickles
3 yellow onions
1 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbs sour cream
1 or 2 Tbs ketchup
1 Tbs Dijon mustard
2 tsp Worcester sauce
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Cut the sliced boiled ham like short noodles. Cut the onion and pickles in small pieces. Drain the peas.

Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, Worcester sauce and ketchup in a bowl, add salt, pepper, peas, onion, ham and pickles. Mix it and enjoy.

Serve the mixture cold on bread or toast and serve it to your guests.
