Czech name: Okurkový salát

This salad is delicious and refreshing and is easy to prepare. It is usually served as a side dish, or as a light dinner. You will find it eaten in Czech restaurants, school canteens and homes. It is surprising, how many cucumbers you need to create it, so remember it while preparing!


1 cucumber
ground black pepper to taste
1/2 Tbs salt or to taste
1 Tbs olive oil
1 Tbs lemon juice or to taste
1 Tbs sugar or to taste
1 cup sour cream


Peel the cucumber and grate it. Add pepper, salt, sugar, olive oil and lemon juice to taste. If you want you can add sour cream. Mix it all up and enjoy.
